SALAMANCA - Leigh R. Fisher, 22, of Salamanca, died unexpectedly Friday (July 8, 2022) in Coldspring.

Born April 21, 2000, in Jacksonville, N.C., she was the daughter of Kristine M. Dowdy of Steamburg and the late Robert Fisher. She was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and of the Turtle Clan.

She attended high school and received her GED.

Leigh had been employed in sales with Stone Giant Dispensary of Steamburg and had previously been employed at McDonald's and Seneca One Stop in Salamanca.

She enjoyed her family, especially her daughter, as well as watching her nephews play lacrosse. She also enjoyed the outdoors, camping and four-wheeling. She was an avid volleyball player.

Surviving besides her mother are a daughter, Maliyah Redeye; her companion, Billybear Redeye of Salamanca; two sisters, Leah Thomas of Salamanca and Bobbi Jo Fisher of Ohio; five brothers, Michael Fisher and Christopher Fisher, both of Ohio, Robert Fisher Jr. of Michigan, Tylin Thomas of Salamanca and Gary Thomas Jr. of Kill Buck; maternal grandmother, Marlene Dowdy of Steamburg; paternal grandparents, Frank and Alma Woodworth Fisher of Salamanca; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Dar Dowdy.

Friends may call all day today (July 12, 2022) at the Coldspring Longhouse, Steamburg. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday (July 13, 2022) at the Longhouse, with members of Coldspring Longhouse officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Haven Cemetery, Steamburg.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca.
