Leisah Burrow Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 3, 2023.
Born March 3, 1977 - Died February 2, 2023 Leisah Emily Burrow was born in Walnut Creek, Ca to Jim and Chae Burrow. She was raised in Livermore, Ca. She passed away peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. Everyone who was fortunate to befriend her knew what an amazing, beautiful, kind, intelligent, generous, strong and passionate individual she was. She was a lover of all living creatures. She would always rescue an animal in need or give a severely injured one a comfortable place to pass. She gave a loving home and a good life to her dogs, Kona and Kaiju and her cat, Yuki.

She loved the outdoors and was very active. She played soccer as a child. She attended Saddleback College before transferring to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where she majored in Microbiology.

She was adventurous and would try anything at least once. She swam, played golf, snowboarded, mountain biked, road biked and played tennis. She even tried learning to play piano despite refusing to learn to read music. She learned to play a section of her favorite piano piece, River Flows in You, composed by Yiruma.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to one of the charities she was most passionate about: SD Zoo, ASPCA and METAvivor.

She is survived by her parents, Jim and Chae Burrow. May she rest in eternal peace.

Ahh my old friend. We will meet again someday :) but not yet.
I am stunned by this news. I remember going to community college together. You brought me out of my shell and helped me get my first boyfriend. I remember going to museums together, and applying to transfer to college together. We were in the same calculus class. I remember how you tried to help me wise up at work when we got jobs together after college.
"A wise person trying to explain wisdom to the young, just sounds like foolishness." -Buddha.

We lit an altar with incense in our apartment. I remember Tucker Wildlife sanctuary. You tried to teach me so many things. Rest in peace old friend...
