Funeral services for Lelton B. Scott, 83, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at Baldwin Heights Baptist Church, the Rev. Steve Rodgers and Dr. David McGowin officiating, with entombment in Cullman Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Scott passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, at Princeton Medical Center. He was born July 27, 1926, to Claude Franklin and Jessie Inez Henry Scott. He was the owner of Scott's Marina. He was a member of Baldwin Heights Baptist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a World War II veteran and loved his country. he was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of over 50 years, Willadean Hulsey Scott; and three brothers, Joseph Eron Scott, J.C. Scott and an infant brother.
Survivors include his wife, Melba Jean Scott; a son, Donald R. Scott; a daughter, Connie (Don) Bangle; a stepson, Randy (Kim) Lindsey; two stepdaughters, Lisa (Frank) Posey and Carole (Drew) DeShazo; six grandchildren, Scott (Tina) Romig, Matthew Bangle, Angelica Scott, Josh Scott, Ryan Scott and Rochelle Scott; three great-grandchildren, Olivia Romig, Claire Romig and Jaedon Scott; six stepgrandchildren, Stephanie (Joe) Koswoski, Ryan Posey, Brandon (Stacy) Lindsey, Tiffanie Lindsey, Lindsey DeShazo and Jackson DeShazo; a stepgreat-grandchild, Finley Koswoski; and a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Baldwin Heights Baptist Church's New Addition Building Fund, 2489 U.S. Highway 278 West, Cullman, AL 35057; or Hospice of Cullman County, P.O. Box 1108, Cullman, AL 35056-1108.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
