LEN MARTINDALE Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Len. On May 25, 2016 at the age of 62, Len went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Beloved husband of 41 years to Pat (nee Mentley). Cherished father of Scott and Tiffany, and Jeff. Beyond adored "G-Pa" of Gracie and Rosie. Loving son of Marilyn and the late Niles Martindale. Favourite son-in-law of Ed and the late Dolores Mentley. Dear brother of Ron, Bob, Mary Kay and husband Hal Pinch, David and his wife Cathy, and Maureen and husband Jeff Van Hook. Loving brother-in- law of Vickie Gangnier (Brian), Eddie Mentley (Sharon), Brian Mentley (Mary Beth), Kim Feimer (Rudy), Kathy Stewart (John), and Darryl Mentley (Nicole). He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Len began working alongside his father at the age of 5, at his mother's request, at their family business Martindale Window and Door Inc. He was very proud to carry on the family business that was founded in 1943, and continued to do so with his sons, Scott and Jeff. There is no one that lived life larger or laughed louder than he did. His motto was: "If you can't have fun, don't do it, OK?". From sky diving to ballroom dancing, there was nothing he wouldn't try. He loved life and his family to the fullest. Len believed that there are "givers and takers" and in honour of this, he was able to give the ultimate gift of organ donation through the Trillium Gift of Life. If you so desire, donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at

I can still here Len's motto in my head as he was trying to teach me some dance steps,"if you can't have fun, don't do it, OK..." I decided, OK I can do this. I later got hurt and could not continue the dancing but his motto and leadership will forever play in my head!

I met Len just six years ago. He was a great friend and mentor to me. Len had an amazing sense of humour and a kind and generous heart and we will never forget him. We enjoyed a couple of fabulous vacations during recent years with Len and his extremely lovely wife Pat. My wife Kathy and I will truly miss him. Although sadness is deep at this time, with true faith in our Lord, we will surely see him again. This I am sure of.

Dearest Pat, we are in absolute shock after seeing the newspaper with the announcement about Len. We are so so sorry. We have always loved you and Len. We are thankful that he knew the Lord! and that we could share a meal together after my mother's funeral on the 17th. Don was so happy to have bought Len a beer. Sorry to hear of Len's death ... I moved to BC over 15 years ago, but still have fond memories of Len. Len was part of our Wednesday morning Bible Study at the Ivy Rose Restaurant & added a lot to our group. His sense of humour, insight & laugh will be missed. RIP my friend!
