Lenore Deasy Obituary

Lenore Joan Deasy, 92, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at her home in Plainfield, Illinois.

Lenore was born on February 3, 1933 in Oak Park, Illinois to Frank and Blanche Meinke. Lenore married her schoolgirl crush and boy down the street, Daniel Deasy, on September 25, 1954, and spent 54 years with him until he passed away at the age of 80.

As a young woman, Lenore took numerous buses to work at Brookfield Zoo and always talked fondly about that job. She also worked at IBM on some of the first computers. After having children, her most rewarding job was that of a mother, grandmother, and Gram2. She lived for her family and spent every day anticipating the next time she would be with them all. She loved cooking and sharing her meals with family and friends. Hers was the house where everyone felt comfortable walking in the door without knocking and would know that she was happy that you were there. She taught all her children that the most important thing in life is the people we love.

Lenore is survived by four of her children, Scott Deasy (Debbie Cummings), Allen Deasy, Cheryl Collier (Bob), and Danny Deasy (Julie); former daughter in law Deborah Deasy-DeNittis (Tony); twelve grandchildren, Dane Deasy, Kyle Deasy (Anastasia), Bret Deasy (Michelle), Jenny Moss (Brent), Erick Collier (Nicole), Elizabeth Walker (Philip), Brian Collier (Lauren), Kimberly Collier, Allen (AJ) Deasy (Breanna), Katherine Budweg (Jeff), Avery Deasy and Tate Deasy; seven great grandchildren, Jax, Ashleigh, Adele, Isaac, Agatha, Raya, and Zoe; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel; her son Dennis; her brother Roy Meinke and his wife Dorothy, her sister Dorothy Bukovac and her husband Michael; her nephew Michael Bukovac; her parents; and many other family and friends.

Lenore lived an incredible life and was a warm, compassionate, giving person who brought love and joy to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her kind and loving spirit will live on in our hearts.

A celebration of life will be held to honor Lenore at a later date to allow family to gather.
