I read about Leo in the Fordyce paper. We receive it here in Marion. I have fond memories of him. I recall helping him build the fallout shelter at your home around 1959 and he hired me to paint your house one time. We went fishing at Lake Quachita once in his old brown oldsmobile. I thought the world of him and he certainly will be missed.

My grandfather was a wonderful man who cared about doing for people more than doing for himself. The little town of Bearden has been so good to my grandparents, my Uncle Ralph, and now my mother (Denise Link). For that I am extremely greatful. When you don't have anywhere else to go, you can always go home.

It is so nice to hear the stories others shared about my grandfather, many I did not know. We will all miss my grandfather, but he is in a better place with no suffering with his Lord Jesus Christ. As my five year old daughter Jessica says, "Grandpa is up in heaven with two legs chasing puppy dogs". She was very concerned about Grandpa and his legs.

Thank you to each and everyone of you who came to the funeral or posted a message. I have printed these off and I will call my Grandmother (Zettie) and tell her about them and mail her a copy.

God Bless you All.

Zettie and Link Family: My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I met you and Leo when I entered Foster Business School in 1948. These were back in the good old days. We had lots of fun back then, and learned a lot too from Mrs. Cornelia Foster, our teacher. . I don't believe you and Leo were married at that time. I have a picture made there of our class. If you want a copy of this picture just let me know. I have lots of fond memories of Leo back then and also when he was a rural carrier at Bearden Post Office. I was Postmaster at Camden during all the time he served at Bearden. Leo was a fine person and will be missed by his many friends which he made through his years of dedicated service to them. Sorry that my health would not permit my being at his funeral so may God's richest blessing be with each one of you.

As mail carrier in the rural area between Thornton and Bearden, Mr. Link was one of the first people I met when we relocated to that area in the summer of 1973. I shall always have a fond memory of his service to me and making me feel welcome to the area.
