Kathryn,

Hopefully you'll remember me! I was Clark's first wife . . . and was with the Anderson family yesterday at Dorothy's son's wedding. She told me about Leon passing away. I was surprised and yet felt badly that we haven't stayed in touch. Know that I'm thinking about you at this time . . . I'm in the phone book -- feel free to call when you get a chance!

Love, Anita

Kathryn,

We are so grateful to have served with Leon in the Branch presidency at the state mental hospital. What a tremendous example he was and is to us. Always there, always serving with a smile on his face.

We were so happy last year when he brought a crew from BYU to remodel part of our basement. He and they were professional in every way. These carpenters brought a special spirit into our home every day that they were there.

We are profoundly blessed to know him and you.

Dear Friends,

I am so sorry that Pat and I were unable to attend Leon's funeral. We have so many good memories of your family. For me as your Home Teacher and when Leon went me to take Krisi to D.C. It was such a long trip with little sleep.

How is the family doing? I guess they were all there? We sure would have liked to see them. I have been out of the house twice in two months, after a 3 week stay in the hospital. I tried to talk Pat into going, but she would not let me go. I guess she was right as much as we both wanted to go.

Tell everone hello. I'm about out of space.

We sure do love you guyes,

Ned and Pat

We were so surprised to learn this morning of Leon's passing. Our hearts goes out to his family, especially to Katy, so far away. Leon set an unsurpassed example of service and commitment that will not be soon forgotten. He will be missed.

Anderson Family,

My deepest condolences upon the loss of the family patriarch and gracious soul.

I know Leon because of his years of service at BYU-Provo. He always had a huge smile on his face and was willing to answer any question I had regarding the work he and his fellow workers were doing around campus. He took pride in his work.

Thank you for sharing him with so many of us.

(I took early retirement from BYU-Provo in the summer of 2004. Leon is one of the positive persons I remember.)

Sincerely,

Dr. Janice W. Clemmer

Dear Kathryn & Family,

I was so sorry to hear about Leon. He was a great Bishop to us when we lived in the Provo 1st Ward. I'll never forget how nice you both were and how special your whole family was. You have always been an inspiration to me. Our prayers are with you.

Kathryn, We wanted to thank you and Leon for the great friends you were to my parents. They thought so highly of you and Leon. You both were an example of charity and love for everyone around.

I served with Brother Anderson in the Provo Baptistry. He was always happy and positive. He liked to talk about his children and what they were doing. I was impressed with the trips he was always taking to see them. My last visit with him was walking out of the temple and hearing about the latest trip he was taking to see their family. He had a great spirit and it was always enjoyable to be around him. He will be missed in our early Friday devotionals and service in the baptristy. Wynette Christensen

Uncle Leon, we know you're with the Angels and in the loving arms of your parents and our Savior, Jesus Christ. We will miss your sense of humor and the quiet and humble way you did things. We will take care of your sweet wife and family. We love you Uncle Leon and can't wait to be with you and Grandma Sanders again.

Dear Kathryn,

We are so sad for us and so happy for Leon that his time to go home has come! You will never know of the love we have for him. While on our mission at the hospital we learned so much from Leon.

He was a man of principle but he expressed it with so much concern for the patient. Blessings were his "best foot forward."

Thank you for sharing your very special companion.

All our love,

Norma & Darrell
