I met Leon back in 1978 when he lived on June Street. I have great memories from back then. Leon loved music, women, his work, his Newports & to laugh. I can still hear the music playing "September" by Earth, Wind and Fire & "Let the Good Times Roll" by The Cars. So much fun and laughter. I am so glad that I got to be part of his life. RIP to my old friend & my deepest sympathies to all of his loved ones.

I remember Leon from Union Hospital when my aunt was there in 1978. She had her leg amputated from cancer and Leon would stop by and talk with her. They became pretty good friends. I remember him as a very compassionate man with a big heart. RIP Leon, may you find peace.

Leon left us for a better place. Lung cancer got the best of him. Leon was my bunk mate when we were campers and worked together at camp Noquochoke and I met my wife while visiting Leon in the hospital so I owe him a lot. The memories brought a tear to my eye, Troop 5, hikes in the woods by the railroad tracks, camping, hiking Franklin Park to Fenway Park. Leon was my best friend in the late 60's, nobody messed with the Sunset Hill troop and Leon was the fastest guy on earth back then, we fought back to back a few times and even shared a cell (only mischief). In Boston they were fighting over racial issues but Leon and I were inseparable, the differences in the color of our skin TRULY did not matter - we were best friends. A lot of time has passed and Leon led a tough life without many breaks but he touched many lives in a positive way. I look forward to sharing Leon stories with my friends and I can still hear him laughing. Rest in peace Leon and may God bless you.
