Leon Warner "Mickey" Tate

Leon Warner "Mickey" Tate, 82, of Springfield, died Tuesday January 22, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday January 24th at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Dr. Ron Lowery officiating. Interment will follow in Cross Plains Cemetery with Gary Cook, Larry Pinson, Tommy Pinson, Sammy Barry, Jimmy Pitt, Sammy Cook, David Graves, and Will Ed Osborne serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Scott, Bill Cook, Jack Adams, Joe Tate, David Lee, Bobby Hendley, Randall Carr, and Harold Covington. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the Robertson County Funeral Home. Mr. Tate was born April 6, 1930 in Robertson County to the late Conley Warner and Wavy Lee Cook Tate. He was the owner and operator of Tate Chevrolet and was a member of Cross Plains United Methodist Church. Mr. Tate was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Steve and Beverly Tate of Springfield, Brian and Beverly Tate of Cross Plains, brother and sister-in-law: Gordon and Jean Tate of Cross Plains, grandson: Brandon Tate.
