Leon Stanley Yoder, 75

Selma - Leon Stanley Yoder, age 75, died at home on Friday, November 25, 2016. The cause was cancer and ongoing health problems.

He was born on December 18, 1940 in Muncie. Leon moved to Selma in 1966. He started his career as an apprentice tool and die maker. He owned Unique Tool and Manufacturing, Inc. for fifteen years. The company made stamping dies, auto parts, computer parts and stamped metal. In the early 1980's he bought his first personal computer. He learned how to program computers and worked as a self-employed computer programmer. He also worked at Wearly Monuments and wrote programs for monument dealers. For six years he taught manual drafting and Auto CAD at the Muncie Area Career Center. In 2006 he bought the Selma Pantry, employed 11 people and served 400 customers a day. Leon retired in 2012. He was a member of New Burlington United Methodist Church and the Selma Lions Club.

Survivors include four children and their spouses, Stephen K. and Michele Yoder, King George, VA, Adam and Tina Yoder, Windsor, England, Aaron and Lisa Yoder, Lexington, KY and Sarah Ake, Muncie; eleven grandchildren, Stephann E. Parizek (Matthew), Andrew Bretton, Breanne Bretton, Brigitte Prince (John), Sean Yoder, Grace Yoder, Toby Tompkins, William Yoder, Katie Yoder, Andrew Ryle, Suella Ryle, and Annabelle Ake; three great-grandchildren, Samantha Parizek, Amelia Parizek, and Brett Sponseller; two brothers, Kenneth Yoder (Jo Ann), Barwick, GA and Dennis Yoder (Michelle), Buffalo Grove, IL; a sister-in-law, Glenna Yoder, Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow W. and Leah E. Yoder; and his brother, Lowell Yoder.

A celebration of his life will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at New Burlington United Methodist Church, 8081 South County Road 475 East, Muncie, IN 47302.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2016, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.

To all of the Yoder Family,
I am heartbroken to hear of Mr.Yoder's passing.I work for Eaton Emts and it has been my privilege to transport your father .He was an incredible man! Oh the memories he would share with me about his children and how much you were loved and how proud he was of each and everyone of you.I don't think I will ever forget the day he was telling me about his robot lawnmower getting away from him.We laughed and laughed about it.I will miss him so much.He definitely was my very favorite .My husband Mark worked with your father at Ivy Tech.He also sends his condolence.MrYoder will always be in my memories and heart.Thank you for letting me get to know and love him.You all are in my heart and prayers.
