Pinole
The life of the party has gone home.
Lenny died in his sleep, unexpectedly and peacefully. He will be remembered as complicated, talented, beloved, and a wild rover. Well-known in some circles as the "piano-bar version of Indiana Jones," he played sax and keyboards for the cult favorite band: The Pencilnecks. In the 60s he was a beautiful, suntanned surfer. In the 70s he explored the Amazon, became bilingual, and lived in Oaxaca, Colombia, Ecuador and London. In the 80s he tried settling down, but it just wasn't in him. In the 90s he took over the family business, Jarvis Tile and Stone, honing his artistry in granite and marble. In the new millennium he began making art with a passion. His pastel portraits of jazz musicians were sensitively and lovingly executed. He found treasures in the most unlikely places, dressed with unique and elegant style (when he didn't have the right pair of socks, he painstakingly painted them on his legs), was a storyteller extraordinaire (embellishments were essential to his craft), was kind and generous and funny - all the while providing the soundtrack to our lives with his wonderful voice and piano.
He will be missed by his mom, Marion, his sister Andy, and brother-in-law Steve. He was the favorite uncle to Nick, Monet, and Romy. He leaves behind countless dear friends, wives, and lovers. We will all miss him dearly.
The family will be gathering to celebrate and remember Lenny on Saturday, Oct 28 at the Crockett Community Center at 2:00. Friends welcome.

Lenny was a gifted musician, vocalist and performer. A talented artist. Curious, and willing to step out of his comfort zone to explore the world. His family meant a lot to him and he to them. I hope he has finally found the peace that so eluded him in life. Rest in good Music.
