I live in Vancouver where I am still teaching at a local University but thank goodness I have a TWIN who has a place in Kenora, a place I like to call home for 3-4 weeks in the summer.
I will never forget. It was a very warm day in Kenora and coming down the road on a scooter was a guy wearing a JETS jacket and JETS cap and I knew that we would be chatting but I just didn't know for how long. This day felt like the luckiest day of my life. I told this man where I lived but I was the biggest JET fan ever and somehow I knew that I had just met my match. He told me that he was Kroppy and we chatted for over half an hour. I could have visited with him all day but I told him that if I didn't get home I could be in trouble. At the end of our conversation I asked him if I could have a hug and kiss him good bye and he told me that he would never wash his face again.
What a gentleman and wow could he tell you hockey stories! I felt like I had known him my entire life after just a short visit.
Kroppy you will be missed but you will never be forgotten. Thank you for giving me memories of a lifetime.

I have the pure joy of meeting Mr. Kropioski before a Jets game a few years ago. I rushed over to him in the concession hallway and asked to shake his hand. He jokingly asked if he looked as good in person as on the screen. I told him better. He chuckled. I will treasure that memory always. He was such a darling man. I admired him greatly. Not because of the Jets tv fame but because of his passion for his country. I will salute you after the anthem this season kind sir. You will not be forgotten! My prayers and love go out to all his family.

It was an honour to have known "Kroppy". He was a gentleman and a gentle man who left so much behind. Kroppy was able last year to take part in a dedication ceremony at the Vimy Ridge memorial Park in Winnipeg, of a statue devoted to his best friend, Andrew Mynarski.

Rest In Peace to the biggest Winnipeg sports fan ever...won't be the same seeing you before every game at the coffee shop or in the food court at CityPlace, sitting down at talking hockey, football, or life in general. The stories you would tell about selling papers in front of the old Osborne Street Stadium where the Bombers used to play or when you played hockey back in the day or what you would do if you we're behind the Jets bench...you'd get our attention and leave us wanting more. You also had a very witty sense of humour...always had me laughing. It was an honor to meet and get to know you Len...we'll miss that patriotic salute on the Jumbotron at every Jets game...R.I.P. Kroppy.

Condolences to Kroppy's family. I'm honoured to have had met up with him twice at the Jets games and that he was kind enough to pose with us for pictures, and talk with us after the games. Every game we have gone to, we have looked for him. He put a smile on our faces during every anthem, and when he got sick in the spring we were heartbroken. Thank you Kroppy for being such a wonderful memory for so many people. You will always be an important part of Jets history, you were the ultimate Jets fan. The games won't be the same without you, you will definitely be missed.
