Leonard R. "Lenny" LaFleur

was a pen pal of Lenny. He would write about the Lake and what was happening on it. I would in turn tell him about the river i live on. He loved to share a recipe or two and loved his cards. He spoke kindly about his freinds Chirs and Ken. I will miss his letters and I could see the smile as we exchanged letters

Lenny was an incredible man. He loved to share stories of his military days and amazing life. We could talk for outs. He was very talented and so genuine. I´m so proud to say I had the opportunity to know him. What a blessing he was. - Jenny Rudloff

Uncle Lenny, that is what he was to everyone. He was full of life and was a big part of the Shoe Dogs.

Mr. LaFleur was a true gem!

I didn't know Leonard but the last name made my curious. My grandmother had the same last name pryer to her marriage and was from New York also. Just wondering if they were related.

What a wonderful person and great ambassador for Jacobson's. There will never be another.

I worked closely with Lenny at Jake's.

I have fond memories of Lenny from my family's time at Michigan Center Lake. He was a kind person with a sharp wit, who regaled us with his stories and songs.

We would like to thank you all for sharing your messages of condolence and memories of Lenny. Our relationship with "Leo" was surely special. He called us his son and daughter, the family he didn't have and now, after losing him only a couple of weeks ago, the absence in our everyday lives is felt more and more. We miss him. Lenny lived large, he just enjoyed life, people, fashion and theatre.
Bill andI had the luck to enjoy Lenny as our neighbor at the lake when settling in Jackson after college. What a unique, worldly gentleman. He had so many colorful stories. We saw him I believe the day before he died , he was enjoying shopping and was dressed so dapper for the holiday. He always had a kind word and inquired about our life.
He is one guy that I felt could do a song and dance at the drop of a hat, any occasion.. life was good. RIP Lenny, you will me missed.

Lenny was such a sweet, colorful person. Loved listening to his stories. He will be dearly missed.

I not only knew Lenny through work but also with the Rose Queen Pageants and Theatre. What a wonderful man and great singer! All of your friends will miss you but we all know you are an Angel singing in Heaven!

I'll always remember Lenny my brother in law Duane Dorgan got me my job at Jacobson in Toledo running the men's shoe dept had a lot of contact with him I'll always remember the shoe mgrs meetings and dinner afterwards at Gilberts where Duane always got Lenny to sing Duanes favorite song " Send in the clowns " I suppose he's singing it now in heaven for Duane RIP dear gentle soul

Our deepest condolences, Lenny was a very unique person what I will remember most is his rings and his hands when he talked, will be missed, Jody and Bob Knapp

Lenny was an amazing man who came to Sargent road Wendy´s every Wednesday to play euchre it was a pleasure knowing him

I am so very sorry for the loss of this special man. He was always friendly and very interesting when we were with him. Hope he´s singing with the angels. Kathy Gillette and family.

Lenny considerably brightened the place up (Jacobson's),
which I am sure he will continue to do when he meets up with Ken, Duane, and the others.

Lenny was a regular at Gilbert's Steak House. Always gracious and kind. Nice man. Rest in peace.

Knew Lenny from playing Euchre around Jackson and also at another friends house. Very nice and loving friend. Will miss him. Very good Euchre player!

It was always a pleasure to talk with Lenny at work / Jacobson's.

I spoke with Lenny a few weeks ago. He was in great spirits as we reminisced, sharing many of the fun times of local theatre. We had made plans to meet up during my visit to Michigan later this month.

Lenny always saw the best in everyone, freely offering his advice and guidance to make sure "we shined!"

As our phone call came to an end, he sang a couple of lines from one of his favorite songs, "You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile."

God is smiling!!
