Bob passed away peacefully at Midnight on Christmas Day, December 25, 2014, at the age of 85 years while on vacation with his family in Scottsdale, Arizona. Bob is survived by his cherished wife of 59 years Janice, children Kim (Barry) Hassen, Rob (Linda) Lockwood and Pam (Russell) Blain. Bob was a proud granddad to Ryan Hassen, Craig Hassen, Talon Blain, Garrett Blain and Sydney Lockwood. Bob was born in Medicine Hat, AB to Alfred and Victoria Lockwood in 1929, and raised with his older sister Gertrude. He met Janice in Swift Current, SK and proposed to her after six weeks. The two were married in 1955, and began raising their family. Bob began his career selling drilling fluids to the oil and gas industry with Baroid of Canada in 1954. He introduced the use of invert mud to the Saskatchewan potash industry in 1963, and after travelling Alberta and Saskatchewan with his young family, settled down in Calgary with Rotary Drilling Services in 1967. In 1973, he founded his own oil and gas company, now called Lockwood Resources Ltd., which has been active in Alberta and Saskatchewan for over 41 years. Until his passing, Bob was still active in running Lockwood Resources, and came into work everyday with a smile. Bob loved his career in oil and gas, and cherished the many friends he made over his sixty years in the industry. He was a true family man, and he loved spending time with his family in Calgary and on family vacations in Scottsdale, Arizona and Sandpoint, Idaho. Prior to his passing, he and his wife Janice enjoyed playing cards, reading, sharing a good glass of wine, and watching the Arizona scenery while on Christmas vacation. Funeral Services will be held at Foothills Lutheran Church (3104 - 34th Avenue N.W.) on Saturday, January 17th, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
