I worked with Lenny at Queensborough Community College in Bayside, NY from 1990 - 1993. He was very instrumental in helping me change the course of my life & teaching me how to be healthier. I'd last seen him in July 2014 at a comedy show in Bellmore. Always thought about him over the years, and wondered how he was. Tonight, (7/12/24) for some reason he popped into my thoughts. It's sad to learn he passed away in 2017, just 3 days after I turned 53 & almost 7-1/2 months after my mom passed. Rest in Peace Lenny, thank you for everything you taught me. - Joe Solimeno

I was a student at Wingate H.S. and worked at camp Kendale in 1965 as a fencing instructor. Lenny was one of the most popular teachers at Wingate and was a real role model. He made life fun just being around him.

I knew Lenny for only a short time. I regret not knowing him longer and will miss his sense of humor and his easy and contagious smile. I offer my deepest condolences to Betty and all those who loved him.

Betty
I went to camp Merrydale/Kendall from 1958-1967 and remember The whole Tucker family quite well. Sorry to hear of Lenny's passing but I want to add my memories of him to the thousands you must be receiving. I even remember his first days at Kendall and of course his doing his push ups....but what I remember most was his wake up messages....dress for this morning is long shoes, long pants........! My condolences to you and your family

Betty and Lenny were married for 65 years and he was going to celebrate his 90th birthday later this month. Lenny was one of the warmest and happiest guys you could ever know. He loved to laugh.
Lenny was a long-time member of the Merrick Legion Post, and for many years was the barber at the standdowns. Everyone who met him loved him immediately, and I am devastated at the loss of a veteran brother who always lit up the room with his presence. Hearing of the loss this afternoon has cast a shadow over the rest of the day, and it will be a sad day on Friday when we accompany him to his final resting place in Long Island National Cemetery at Calverton.
Rest in peace, dear Lenny, and prayers please for Betty and their family.

We are shocked to hear that Lenny passed away. Any time we ever saw him he always had a joke and a contagious smile. You will be missed by many. Thank you for your service to our country. Rest in Peace.
