In memory of

My thoughts go back to Leonard taking me to Moores in Roanoke where he induced me to a very large German Shepard that was protecting the businesswhile closed. It really stuck with me because I owned German Shepard's for the next 30 years.
By this time Leonard was a manager for Lowes and he helped me get a job at the Lowes in Roanoke. Back then in the early 70's, Lowes catered mostly to contractors. As many have said, Leonard was a kind, smart and loving man who loved his wife Betty and the 2 beautiful twin girls Cheri and Teri and the grand babies!
I was sadden when I got the news that Leonard had passed away. He lived a wonderful life and I'm so happy that I was a small part of it!

My fondest memories were at his mother and father's house. They were a big part of my past as a child and playing with my twin cousins Terri and Cherie. I remember when my mother and father Doug and Shirley Moore would take my brother and me to the beach for a family vacation, so we would stop to visit Leonard, Betty, and the girls during our travel through Columbia, SC. I will never forget these visits and swimming in their pool. I have many fond memories with them and Leonard's parents. His mother Vernie, was very dear to my heart, and spent a lot of time with her at her home in Boones Mill, Va, and when she came to visit my grandmother Lottie, who was Vernie's sister. Those 2 were such a cute pair.
Leonard was a very special man and so full of life. He touched everyone's heart that he was around. My mother, Shirley was very close with him and they talked every month about the old days and all the things they would get into together.
He will be missed dearly, but I am glad that he is with Betty and knowing we have another special angel to watch over us.
My heart goes out to the family and I am sending lots of love, hugs, and prayers to Cherrie and Terri

Cheri, Teri and family,
Uncle Leonard was a wonderful man and always the best role model for a life of sharing and blessing others.
I will miss talking with him and all of our visits and time that we spent together.
He was like a second father to me. I mostly remember all of the times that he visited us in Virginia and how he loved to set outside on the porch at my parent's home.
I know that he is with God and rejoicing on the reunion with Aunt Betty and my mom and dad.
You are all in my prayers. I love you all.

Cheri, Teri and family,
We are so very sorry for your loss. We will really miss our sweet Uncle Leonard! I will miss talking to him about cats, horses and cows. I will miss our Florida visits with him and Aunt Betty. God broke the mold when he made Leonard Turner! He was truly one of a kind! He was such a good, sweet and smart man. Please know that he is now having a glorious reunion with Aunt Betty and my parents. We will all see him again one day. May God wrap his arms around you all and comfort your hearts now.
Much love to you guys!

This world has lost a great, very loving and caring man...Heaven has gained a wonderful Angel...I hope he is dancing in Heaven now with Betty, his parents and my Momma. He was like a son to her and a brother to us. "Little Leonard" will be greatly missed. We all loved him deeply. I love Cheri and Terry too and please know you are in my thoughts...

Leonard is one of the finest men I've ever known. God has to be very Happy with Leonard Turner. From the very first time I met and talked with Leonard to the very last time I talked with him the man demonstrated a warm and loving heart and always gave me words of wisdom. He lived a very happy and successful life. He always put Jehovah first in his life and worked daily to be the man God wanted him to be. He always talked about Jehovah with me almost every time we talked. I'm so happy and grateful for the time he and I shared over many years. I will miss him and the talks we had. I look forward to seeing him again someday. Leonard I love you enjoy your journey that you always talked to me about.

Oh my goodness I can't tell you all how Leonard and Betty melted our hearts when we saw this big moving truck unloading their belongings. I never expected them to be the age that they were thinking maybe a little younger lol...once we got to know them I admired the love they had for each other...my husband and I have been blessed with the same relationship 52 years . We always enjoyed the life stories he shared with us..very interesting man and life. Leonard Turner God Bless you and darn you we get no more famous 4 bean salad lol Fly high and give Miss Betty a smooch from Bob and Georgie because before she was in the hospital she said "don't come close you know that covid " lol

Leonard was such a sweet soul and a neighbor of my parents, who we considered our family. We shared meals and stories, waves and hellos from across the street for over 5 years. He will truly be missed by the Fox family (across the street), we were blessed to have known such a sweet man. Our condolences and prayers are ongoing. Love you always sweet Leonard, rest in peace.
