I would like to extend my most sincere and gracious condolences to the blessed family of Dr. LeRoy Byrd.

Dr. Byrd "walked his talk" as a genuine man and compassionate doctor. He treated me for over 20 years for permanent injuries I received in a law enforcement combat critical incident, graciously accepting my workmans comp as payment in full.

I started addressing him as "Saint LeRoy" some five years back as I sensed holiness around him.

I respected and admired him; henceforth, my remaining years will be spent in emulating his life walk as best I can.

God Bless you, Dr. Byrd. You will be sorely missed.

Dear Irene and Family,
I have many fond memories of all of you from the 70's at St. Joseph's in Colbert. Leroy was an exemplary man in every way to so many people--husband, father, uncle, brother-in-law, doctor, and friend, just to mention a few. He certainly lived out his legacy in the present as a great example to all of you. You are in my heart and on my mind as you go through this difficult time, and my hope is that wonderful memories will sustain you in this time of adjusting to life without him. Sincerely, Paddy Inman

We will truly miss our dear friend and Doctor. Doctor Byrd was my parents doctor for over 40 years. He was my personal internist for 28+ years, and my husband Warren physician. He made periodic home visits to my mom Causna's home while recovering from her first stroke. I had moved to Seattle/Arlington area with my family in 1998 and we continued faithfully to see Dr.Byrd at least twice a year. I would be excited to see him as he would walk in and give me a handshake a hug and say well "Tammy Olson", with that unforgettable smile. I would ask about Angela, Alisha, and of course Irene. He would always talk about my children keeping up with their young adult lives. On occasion they would come with me just to talk to the famous "Dr.Byrd." He was a true friend who I will forever miss. God Bless the Byrd family and thank you for sharing him with so many of us.
God Bless, Tammy Albin Olson

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Byrd. I worked with him for many years and found him to be a very kind and considerate man. He helped me thru a very difficult time of my own health crisis. I will always be grateful for that. He was that way with everyone, no matter who you were. I have many great memories of how witty he was, as well. He was loved and adored by all of his patients. He will be missed by all who knew him. My condolences to all of his family.

Dear Byrd family,
I was very saddened to hear of Dr. Byrd's passing just before Christmas. I have such fond memories of all of you growing up and attending St. Joseph's Parish and getting to know your family through those years. I can still see Dr. Byrd driving into the church parking lot in the big motor home and all of you pouring out! Dr. Byrd was always so kind and your family a stable fixture in my life growing up. God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

We are very saddened by the unexpected news of Dr. Byrd's passing and send our heartfelt condolences to Irene and the entire Byrd family. Dr. Byrd was a loyal friend to our family and served this friendship through medical counsel, moral support and highly personalized attention during the illnesses of both of my parents, John and Belle Roehm. We remain grateful for those efforts and truly feel we would not have been able to navigate those turbulent times without him. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time. Our consolation is that my parents are able to see him again and that one day, your whole family will be reunited in heaven.

I worked at HFH in the HR department when Dr. Byrd was a physician on staff. He was extremely popular with the staff and patients alike - completely due to his amazing talent, his kindness, and gentle way. He always had a smile on his face and was always so kind and thoughtful to EVERYONE. He was simply a special and gifted man to gave so much to others. God Bless you, Dr. Byrd!

My condolence to the Byrd family. I was a Freshman at Carroll in 1959. Leroy was a Senior. I am so blessed to have had Leroy as a mentor my initial college year. He was not the reason I enrolled at Carroll but he influenced how I persevered college & indeed graduated. Thank you Leroy you are indeed a "man for all seasons".
