The First Memory I Have Of My Brother LeRoy Was When I Was 4 Yrs Old. My Sister Gina And I Often Visited Him At His Home In Carson Calif. He Loved To Play Secular R&B Music In his House; Jackson 5, Al-Green, The Four-Tops, And James Brown. This Was The Only Times We Were Exposed To Secular Music. Our Mother Was Very Religious And Wouldn´t Allow It To Be Played At Home, Neither Were We Allowed To Dance. But As Time Went On And We Got A Bit Older, We Began Sneaking it On, Until She Realized We Were Gonna Play it anyway. My Brother LeRoy Taught Me My First Dance. It Was Called, " The Funky Chicken." It Was a Dance Were You Slightly Bend Your Knees And Hit Both Legs Together To The Beat of The Music. One Day When He Was Over To Our House, He Said to Me, Earl Do That Dance I Showed You, The Funky Chicken. Ofcourse I Knew My Mother Didnt Allow Me To Dance. But My Brother Kept Urging It. So I Finally Did It. My Mother Said, Boy You know You Dont Be Dancing. The Devil gonna Get You. We All Had a B.I.G. Laugh About it.
