Leslie Josephs Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 28, 2007 to Jan. 5, 2008.
JOSEPHS, Leslie Ameen After a courageous battle with leukemia, Leslie went to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Monday, December 24, 2007, at home surrounded by his family, at age 71. Cherished husband of Glenor for 46 years. Loving father of Mark and his wife Shelley, Randy, Peter and Tim. Proud Papa of Jonathan, Charissa, Ellisa and Daniella. Predeceased by brothers Oscar and Karam and sisters Linda, Esme and Rose, and survived by much loved sister Lurene and her husband Stanley Karram. Will be deeply missed by lifetime friend "from the crib" Wadih Karam and his wife Barbara, many other extended family and friends, employees of his company Kisko Products and his church family. Leslie was an entrepreneur extraordinaire, a man of unquestioned integrity, had a great sense of humour and was loyal and devoted to his entire family and friends. He was a man of deep and abiding faith. As a new immigrant to Canada in the 1970's, he fought for the things that were important to him - his Lord, his family and his work. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 4th from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, 8911 Woodbine Ave (4 lights north of Hwy 7) Markham (905) 305-8508. The funeral service will be on Saturday, January 5th at 11 a.m. at Unionville Alliance Church, 4898 16th Avenue (east of Kennedy Road), Unionville, followed by a reception at the church. Interment at Springvale Baptist Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations in Leslie's memory to Jamaica College (the school that Leslie attended and supported in Jamaica) or the Master's Pantry Program at Unionville Alliance Church. The family is preparing a "memory book." If you have a favourite story about Leslie you would like to share, please email it to [email protected].

Dear Gleena,
Our sincere condolences on your recent loss. I apologise for the fact that we do not know each other in spite of being a close relative of Ameen. Oceans divide us but that is not a good excuse.I intend doing something about this. Ameen spent a lot of time compiling a detailed family history for Silja's project, his efforts will not be wasted.

Uncle Ameen was excellent about keeping in touch with family, including his nieces and nephews. We will miss his thoughtfulness and his phone calls, and will treasure many happy memories with him.

I will miss my Uncle and friend greatly. I have shared many memorable moments with him over the years and I was so blessed to be able to be there with him and the family for his 71st Birthday and the opening of the New Kisko facilities.

I will miss Unlce very much. He was one of my favorite people. What a sense of humor. He used to joke alot.

I luckily was able to see him quite often when he came to visit FL. He would jokingly say "have you kept my room clean for me?", because he used my bedroom when visiting.

I will miss him dearly.....
