Hi Barb, I worked for Lylas 1995-1999 as a student, and I knew you and Les through my job on grounds. Les was a great guy! Be well.

Dear Barb and family,
I didn't make it to the campus memorial and have been trying to find an address for you. This note is late but it still has the same sincere sympathy for you. Les was such a gentleman and will be missed. When I moved my 35 faculty into Mary Ann Cofrin Hall I got to know Les. He was so much help in trouble shooting and was spot on. He never complained even when we knew he was overworked. A true gem. I know you two had some really good times together. Cherish those memories. My condolences, an old neighborhood kid from the northeast side, remembering you from those days and from being a colleague of yours. My best, Chris

Barb, my condolences to you. After all your hard work you and Les deserved more time together. But, knowing Les, I'm sure the time you had was a good ride. Les was, first and foremost, a great guy, fun to be with, willing to stretch his abilities, dedicated to his craft, and loyal to friends and colleagues. As a planner and builder, he left a permanent impression, though not always visible, mark on UWGB and was one of only a handful who truly got what the institution and the campus were all about. He was, in his own words, happy to be there and proud to serve. I was, too, in my work with him. I am sorry I will not be at the ceremony - I have another friend to memorialize at the same time. Best wishes.

Dear Barb,
My condolences to you. After all those years of hard work, you deserved much more time together. Knowing Les, I'm sure the time you had was a great ride. Les was first and foremost a great guy, loads of integrity, willing to stretch his capacities, and loyal to his friends and colleagues. He left a permanent, not always visible, mark on UWGB as a planner and builder. He was one of only a handful of folks who really got what the institution and the campus were all about and he defended that throughout his career. He was, in his own words, happy to be there and proud to serve. I feel the same about working with him. I'm sorry I won't make the celebration - I have another friend to memorialize that day, as well. Take care.

Barb, we are so sorry for your loss, Les was such a great person and will truly be missed. I am so thankful for all our years at the campground, all the fires, meals, music the laughs, and those sweaters.....
My favorite memory is the time we got to go sailing with you, what a beautiful day and finished it off watching the fireworks on the boat, i will forever cherish that memory.
May you have comfort in knowing he is at peace, Sailing the great heavens.
