Leslie K. Skinner, 43 of Lorain, died Friday, May 7, 2010 at Community Health Partners, Lorain after a short illness. She was born March 15, 1967 in Amherst, Ohio and has been a Vermilion and Lorain life long resident. She worked in shipping for Diamond Products in Elyria for over 15 years and currently worked for the Sears shipping department in Cleveland. She was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan, loved football, martial arts, working out, and she enjoyed spending as much time with her family as she could. She especially enjoyed taking care of her son, Dakota. She also enjoyed working on cars and was a great mechanic and handy woman. Leslie was the first female plumber in Lorain County. Survivors include her life time partner, Peggy Lee Robinson of Lorain; son, Dakota Skinner of Lorain; sisters, Marcia Stottlemire of Lake Station, Illinois, Suzanna Ientile of Lorain, Deborah Ann Hance of Lorain, Monica Jane Skinner of Lorain; brothers, Jeffrey Allen Skinner of Easley, SC, Dale Douglas Skinner of Easley, SC, Timothy Lewis Skinner of Elyria, Gary Lane Skinner of Lorain; several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, Laco Ray and Betty Louise (nee Wright) Skinner; sisters, Billy and Roberta and brothers, Norman, Ronald J., Laco Ray Jr. and Donald Edward Skinner. Friends may call Tuesday, May 11, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 10:00 am. The Rev. Jimmy Madsen, pastor of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lorain, will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Lorain County Sheriff's Department D.A.R.E. Program, 9896 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
