Lester Sebay Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 30, 2013.
Dec. 27, 1946 - March 25, 2013
Lester Polinar Sebay, 66, died at 9:15 a.m., Monday, March 25, following a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Honolulu Hawaii, the son of Hilardo Gomez and Elisa Sebay, he spent the majority of his life residing in the Bay Area. He is survived by an extensive and very large family.
In his early years, Mr. Sebay enjoyed helping his father and spending time with him looking for replacement parts at the local hardware parts stores. As a child, he had an enthusiastic curiosity with space exploration during the days of the German Rocket Scientist, Wernher von Braun. He was a member of ROTC while attending Polytechnic High School in San Francisco and after graduating in 1965, he joined the United States Army. Upon completion of his tour of duty, he held a variety of secular occupations, including BART Technician and Computer Seminar Instructor.
Mr. Sebay had an avid interest in learning to pilot airplanes and took flying lessons. During these flights, he would tell his younger sister to wait outside in the backyard to watch him fly over the house.
By nature, Mr. Sebay was a people person and enjoyed making friends. His natural charisma translated easily between different industries. Not only did he enjoy wine, but the process of making it. He relished the friends he made and the variety of people he met during his time in the business.
His favorite hobbies included many outdoor activities such as boating, fishing, hiking, and camping. He cherished his family heritage and was fond of Hawaiian music, Hula, and Luaus. He had a passion for technology and loved being involved in the computer industry.
And, above all, he loved his children the most.
A private memorial service will be held for family and close friends.

I was Lester's mailman for on and off 20 years on Hogan Ave. I bought my first computer though him. He would always let me read his computer tech magazines before delivering them. He was a good man.
I feel so sad on his passing.
Love Lew
