LESTER THACKER
Lester P. Thacker, 76, of Arlington died peacefully at home with family on December 18, 2014. Lester was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine M. Klemovage Thacker; his parents, Alexander and Mildred Thacker; siblings, Alexander "Junior", Ernest, Clifton, Robert, Lindsey, Johnny, Elsie and Virginia Thacker, and Bessie Clark. He is survived by his children, Mary E. Thacker, Walter W. Thacker (LeAnn), and Toby A. Thacker (Trish A.), grandchildren, Jacob M., Benjamin I., William J., Melanie, and Lilly R. Thacker; brother, Mickey Thacker, and numerous extended family. Lester worked as an electrician for the Department of Defense and the Pentagon for 30 years. He was known for his quick smile and his willingness to help those in need. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron St. Alexandria, VA 22314. A Life Celebration Service will begin at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria, VA.www.cunninghamfuneralhome.net
