I will also never forget those years at Glencoe. She was one of the few teachers who got to experience all four of us Burtrum kids. She was a wonderful teacher and woman of God. It was also great to see her and Leroy in the Christian bookstore many years after she left teaching. She devoted her life to what she believed and instilled that in every young person she taught. I thank her for that and know I am a better man, father, and husband because of her.

I will never forget my third grade year at Glencoe with this dear lady! She was one of the most cheerful and caring women I have ever known. Although she will be greatly missed by all I know she is walking with the Lord right now and watching over us all just as she always did! My thoughts are with her family.

In a little while I will rejoice with others that our beloved Leta is with our Heavenly Father. My heart goes out to Leroy and the rest of the family.

I did not have the opportunity of having Mrs. Hawkins for a teacher because I did not start school at Glencoe until 4th grade in 1979. However, I did love and respect her very much. She always had that beautiful smile on her face! I cry only because of my own selfishness. We should all celebrate for her because she is now living the most wonderful and perfect life. Mrs. Hawkins you will be greatly missed!

Although Leta will be missed greatly by all of her friends we must remember that this is also a time of celebration for her. Leta is home with her Father starting a brand new life. Leta is rejoicing and singing praises to her Father.
God bless her and Brother Leroy.

This world has lost a great friend and true soldier of Jesus Christ. She will always be missed. Leta was one of the finest ladies that I've ever known. Leroy and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.
