Letha Post Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 17, 2025.
Letha Post or Lethal Letha, a vibrant and unforgettable soul, passed away on April 14, 2025, at the age of 94 in Franklin, NY. Born in 1930, Letha lived a life full of spunk, love, and laughter, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she met. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry Post and a cherished sister to Pat, Bud, Bonnie, and Jim. And a friend to everyone!

Letha was a devoted mother to her three sons, Rick (Carrie), Gary (Bonnie), and Steve. Her legacy continued through her grandchildren: Marci , Bradley (Laura) , Greg , and Tyler (Kelley); Sherri, Brandon, and Jenna. She was also the proud great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren-seven girls and two boys-who brought her endless joy.

Known for her feisty and sassy spirit, Letha was everyone's grandma, welcoming all into her heart and home. Her middle-finger wave was legendary, delivered with a mischievous grin that could light up a room. A lover of Elvis, she was often found singing and dancing, captivating friends and family with her infectious energy. Letha's famous Post Pond parties were the talk of the town, where her zest for life never slowed down. Mornings were reserved for coffee and solitaire, while afternoons were spent catching up with her best friends, Ginny and Aggie. She also had a special place in her heart of Ginny's grandchildren.

Her personality shone through in her favorite sayings: "If God can forgive, why can't you?" and "That's my story, and I'm sticking to it." These words reflected her unapologetic authenticity.

Letha's memory will live on in the countless lives she touched with her warmth, humor, and boundless love. We want to take a moment to thank the Hampshire House for their empathy and love for Letha. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Forever in our hearts, Grandma and Mother Letha Post.

Dear Rick and family,
So sorry for your loss. I remember coming to one of the Post parties at the pond. She was spunky and fun to be around. May Letha rest in peace and may her memories bring comfort to all.

I am a cousin of Letha. My mother and her father were sister and brother. Last June, I took a trip through New York to pick up a grandson who was in New Hampshire. I took time to stop to see Letha at Hampshire House. I had not seen her in years, and I'm so glad I stopped. As usual, she was delightful. I'm sorry that my mother never chose to be closer to her brother. As children, we missed out on knowing our cousins very well. May she rest in peace.

I´ve never met my blood grandmothers my whole life, and I have been neighbors with Letha since 2001. I was 3. My entire life, Lerner to me was known as grandma and she always was my grandma. Our door was always open to her and hers was always open to me and my family and I am so thankful I got to grow up next to her. We always would go play at the pond or head to grandmas for some food as she always made sure we never left hungry. I´ll never forget the kindness, spunk, love and laughter Letha shared with me and my family over the years. May she rest in peace
