Disputanta - died suddenly from complications of gallbladder surgery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Lee Pettaway; son, Andrew Lee Pettaway, Jr.; daughter, Sonya Dee Pettaway; and granddaughter, Myla Val-Sheni Pettaway. Madeline was a dedicated member of Jehovah's Witnesses and attended the Prince George Congregation. She was baptized in 1965 and remained a faithful servant until her death. Many of the organization members remember Madeline for her humor, kindness, and love for Jehovah.Madeline was an avid gardener. Her love of flowers showed in the many flower beds and pots that filled her yard. Her beautiful vegetable garden reflected her green thumb. She was always willing to share her knowledge of plants to any and all who asked. Not only did she share her knowledge, she also shared whatever she harvested from the garden. No one was turned away. She gave generosity to all. Madeline loved fishing, salt water or fresh water, it didn't matter. She always had a pole, rod or net ready to catch whatever was good to eat.Madeline is survived by her loving children, Lorraine of Disputanta, Audie (Regina) of Prince George, Marsha (Alfred) of Petersburg, Todd (Patricia) of Disputanta, Kimberly of Disputanta, Tammy (James) and Tabitha (Luther) both of North Prince George; grandchildren, Audie II (Kelly), Ashlie (Shawn), Tony, Jordan, Andrew, Matthew and Lexus; great grandchildren, Bracie, Tony II, Sean, Whitney, Jacob, Xavier, Zane and Ariana; in-laws, Walter (Glorine), Bobby (Sharon), Rosa Mae (Raymond) and Gladys; special niece, Roberta Pettaway; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg. The interment to follow at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.A wake will be held 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Friday, July 16, 2021 at the funeral establishment.J.M.
