Levi HIEBERT Obituary
August 4, 1998 - November 17, 2015
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son and brother Levi James Hiebert on Tuesday, November 17, 2015. Our lives will forever be changed by this ginormous loss. He leaves to mourn his parents Daryl and Lynn Hiebert; his sisters Olivia (Rick) Haughian and their children Danon, Treyton, Kasey, Rhian and Cohen; Amie Sewell and daughter Hanna; Kaylee Hiebert and children Ethan and Danaya; Teagan Hiebert (Clay Kutney) and their children Jersey and Embrie; Grandpa Henry Hiebert (Betty Petkau); Grandma Elizabeth Francis; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends with a special mention of his bestest friend Justyn Lightle (aka his black brother). He was predeceased by his grandma Marianne Hiebert (2012); and his grandpa Edwin Francis (2010). Levi was a kind-hearted, mature and gentle natured person that cared deeply about everybody in his life. He was magnetic, always drawing others towards him in everything he did. Levi had a smile that would light up the whole room and was always willing to lend an ear and encouragement to whoever needed it. Levi was an athlete and had an enormous passion for sports. He was dedicated and always put forth his best effort, whether it was football, baseball, basketball, track, golf, or snowboarding. Levi's great attitude toward his teammates made him an all-around good player who was loved and respected by all who knew him. Levi loved his family. He spent time every summer at Chitek Lake fishing on the boat, always hoping to catch a big one. But even if he didn't, he was happy just being there with his family, in the moment. He went hiking with his Mom and Dad and sister Amie in the mountains, always excited to do anything adventurous. Levi had recently started golfing. He was happy with "triple bogeys all day long" as long as he was out there having fun. He was the uncle to 10 nieces and nephews who were very lucky to call him Uncle Levi. They loved teasing him and he teased them right back leaving them all squealing and coming back for more. Nothing made Levi more excited than the sight of the first snowfall. Snow meant that snowboarding season was fast approaching and Levi always found his happy place floating through some fresh powder. He was always offering encouraging words and motivational pep talks. We leave you with one of his favourites, "No matter what you do, do your best." Levi grew his hair and it has been donated to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Fund. Donations can be made on his behalf via the Canadian Cancer Society or at www.pantene.ca. A Service to Honor Levi will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24th at Mount Royal Mennonite Church (610 Ave O North). I can't imagine your pain and loss. It was a privilege and a joy to have taught Levi for several years at Montgomery, I came across an assignment of his recently that I used as a good example for a current class. Simply a great kid, and that amazing infectious smile won't fade from anyone's memory anytime soon. Know your pain at this devastating tragedy is shared by everyone who knew Levi. A smile and dedication to his team is what we will always remember when we think of Levi and man could he run! He was a blessing to have around and I know Ethan loved playing with him. We had to be silent to absorb the pain you feel, we felt your pain together and pray that some of our pain will alliviate a tiny bit of yours. I didn't know Levi all to well but we went to the same school and are in the same grade. Every time he was walking through the hallways at Tommy Douglas he always had a smile on his face.
