Lilian Lee Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 25, 2025.
Lilian Lee was welcomed by her Heavenly Father on the evening of January 19, 2025, in Los Angeles, California. Born on August 1, 1953, in Bandung, Indonesia, she was a cherished daughter of the late Gustav and Hetty Budiarto.

Lilian is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Vincent; her children, Peter Lee (Nancy), Michael Lee (Jennifer), and Suzanne Martineau (Bret); her beloved granddaughters, Sophia, Vivienne, Nora, Eloise, and Ainsley; her siblings, Ricky Budiarto, Natalia Budiarto, Hedy Ganis, and an extended family of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Each of them will forever hold close the love and kindness she shared.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Lilian's family was the heart of her world. Her selflessness and boundless love were felt by all who knew her. She lived for others, always putting their needs ahead of her own.

Lilian's legacy as a woman of Catholic faith is one of the greatest gifts she has given to her family. Her dedication to personal and communal prayer, as well as living the Commandments and Beatitudes, has been a blessing to them. Lilian often advised her family to pray, entrust their burdens to the Lord, forgive easily, and be gracious for God's blessings. It is fitting that her final days were spent in the City of Angels.

Lilian found the greatest joy in bringing people together-often around a table. As a gifted cook, she expressed her love through food, delighting in preparing meals that brought comfort and joy to her family and friends. Whether it was a favorite dish or a special treat, her culinary creations were always a reflection of her nurturing spirit. Throughout her life, Lilian lived in various parts of the world-Indonesia, Brazil, Singapore, California, Maryland, and more recently, Utah-but her heart always found peace in the warmth of home.

In recent years, nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her granddaughters. Whether through simple moments like creating arts and crafts, playing with Play Doh, sharing snacks, visiting the park or beach, attending dance recitals or volleyball games, cuddling on the couch, or simply being present with them, Lilian's love for her granddaughters was profound and boundless.

Lilian's legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her love, generosity, and the beauty she brought into the lives of others will forever be remembered.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.
