Lillian (Lil) Arnone, 89 of Neptune, passed away peacefully in her home on January 25, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Lil is predeceased by her parents, Maria and Joseph Arnone, brothers Tom, Sam, Joseph, Charles, Angelo, sister Rose Arnone, nephew Joseph Arnone Jr. and sisters-in-laws Mary, Sue, Lee and Dolores Arnone. She is survived by her sister Camille and brother-in-law Nino Ercolino, 17 nieces and nephews, 26 great-nieces and nephews and 3 great-great-nieces and nephews. Lil was a supervisor at Camp Cole, an additional property of Fort Monmouth, in the U.S. Army Electronics Command’s Procurement Directorate and retired from her position in 1995 to lovingly take on the responsibility of caring for her great nieces and nephews. Lil never missed an opportunity to spend time with her family and the people she loved most. She greeted everyone with her friendly smile and heart of gold.
Lil loved summer days by the pool, winter weekends at the Poconos, and Sunday family dinners. She particularly enjoyed the holidays because it was a chance for the entire family to get together, even the west coast family came home. She and her sister Rose loved to walk the boardwalk, attend the U.S.Tennis Open and were season ticket holders for the Garden States Art Center. The two sisters traveled throughout Europe, and adored Broadway shows, especially Radio City Music Hall at Christmas time. Lil’s hobbies included knitting, baking, playing her organ and bingo. Lil was a graduate of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Grammar School, Asbury Park, Saint Rose High School, Belmar, and attended Monmouth Jr. College in Long Branch. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Asbury Park.
The family would like to thank Dr. Angelo Chinnici, his entire staff, and her caretaker of 5 years, Kate Khosruashvili.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday January 28, 2022. 11 am Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Asbury Park. Interment immediately following Mt Calvary Cemetery, Neptune.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church.
