I worked for the Cunninghams in the Spring of 1966 when a coat and tie were required for dinner at the Breakers. A wonderful experience for me...running a hotel...am sorry for your loss.

I hadn't seen Billy for a few years, since I was only an acqaintance from years ago. Like many, I knew Colleen too, and was closer to her. But when Billy was around, she was in charge. Great fun, many times.

In the years I had the pure honor to be her caregiver in her home, I never met a woman I loved and admired as much. She was one of a kind and loved by many. Her family became my family and my heart goes out to them. She loved her sister Joe so much and is now with her and her best friend who died 8 days before her Colleen. I know heaven will never be the same with the three of them up there together. I hope to see them again someday when its my time cause I miss them so much. Billie was a very intelligent woman with the most beautiful skin for her age. She never thought of herself as old, and felt young at heart all the time. She has made me laugh and cry with all the stories of her life. I will treasure my memories with her always. God Bless You Billie Cunningham. I love you!

It was the mid-70's ... I was in my mid-20's - the beach was a great place to live; I was just starting a couple of businesses and although I'd graduated with SEVERAL talented and beautiful girls from MBHS both behind me and a few years ahead of my Class of '68 "Billie" Cunningham, Dottie Forrester, "Stu" Bauer and Norma Bullard - hard-charging "Dunes Club Ladies" all, PLUS Dot Bishop from Pine Lakes were the "women" I was "in-love" with back then (always from a respectable distance).
They were smart, eloquent and business-oriented, all of them entrepreneural 'salesmen' for Myrtle Beach ... all of 'em friendly, helpful, funny and engaging - all of them twice my age or more but so smart it wasn't funny.
Since its founding Myrtle Beach has always been blessed with smart men who weren't afraid to work hard to make things work. Well, we've had our share of smart women, too.
Billie Cunningham was kind to me, she encouraged me and she made me laugh.
Her entire life was a celebration, my condolences to her family. Billie touched many lives in so many positive ways. Rest in peace.
