Lillian "Lil" Elizabeth Douthit (nee Taylor) of Washington Township, NJ, aged 72, passed peacefully on March 25, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Legacy Lillian was born in Pittsboro, North Carolina on September 16, 1938, one of six children to parents Webb and Mary Ethel Taylor. Shortly after graduating from Horton High School, Lillian moved to the Philadelphia area and worked as a licensed practical nurse, when she met her husband Alvis "Skip" Douthit. Married in 1964, "Skip and Lil" resided in Philadelphia until moving to New Jersey in the mid 1970's. There she worked with the Washington Township Board of Education until she retired in mid 1990's. Lillian was a wonderful mother, home-maker and cook. She also had a green thumb, and was known for her beautiful plants and flowers that she maintained each year. In her retirement she enjoyed shopping, cooking for family gatherings, and watching Oprah. Lillian was a loving and giving woman who will always be remembered for her bright and outgoing personality and laugh that would light up a room. Family She is survived by her loving husband Alvis "Skip" Sr., loving Son, Alvis "Skipper" Jr., loving daughter Kimberly (Dan), one grandson Daniel, one sister: Bernice Taylor Siler from Siler City, N.C; one brother: Bobby Andrew Taylor (Gerilene) from Pittsboro, NC; Nine nieces and two nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends. She will truly be missed. Memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. Farewell Service Viewing Friday 10 AM - 11 AM in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Rd., Washington Twp. (Sewell) 08080 Going Home Service - Friday 11 AM in the funeral home. Interment Gloucester County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown, NJ
