FRIED, LILLIAN TAFFEL, 83, of North Miami Beach, died December 9, 2004. Mrs. Fried was a retired bank employee, working many years for Washington Federal Savings & Loan. She was born in New York City, and raised outside of Loch Sheldrake, New York on her father's dairy farm. She met Jack Fried while visiting Miami with her family in 1946 and they were married shortly thereafter. Known for her energy and spirit, she walked 2 or more miles a day for most of her retirement years. She enjoyed cooking, reading and traveling and happily attended the Bar Mitzvahs of all three grandsons & college graduations of her two older ones. Survivors: daughter Adrienne Fried, of North Miami Beach, son and daughter-in-law Martin and Janet Fried, of Plano, Texas, daughter and son-in-law Simone and Jerome Goodman, of Potomac, Maryland, grandchildren Brian & Justin Fried and Alex and Brittany Goodman, and brother and sister-in-law William and Esther Taffel, of Ridgewood, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Fried, in March of 1996. The funeral will be held at 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, December 12 at Lakeside Memorial Cemetery. I am a Wernick cousin, also with a connection to their Loch Sheldrake days--not sure who will be reading this but I am just researching and trying to locate as many of the Wernicks as possible...please write back. My grandfather Sol, was Lillian and Miriam's mother's younger brother...
