Lillian Hardy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 6 to Dec. 7, 2007.
HARDY LILLIAN (ADAMSON)
Of Franklin TN, formerly of Wilkins Twp. entered her heavenly home on December 3, 2007, one month after her 97th birthday. She was born on Nov. 3, 1910 in Youngwood and lived most of her adult life in Pittsburgh. She loved Nashville, her home since 1991. Lily was preceded in death by Wesley F. Hardy, her husband of 50 years; her parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her daughter Bonnie (David) Kays of Franklin, TN; 3 grandchildren, Roland (Judy) Kays of Albany, NY, Halena Kays (Mike Spatafora) of Chicago IL, & Noah (Becca) Kays of Charlotte, NC, 2 great grandsons, Eli & Fletcher Kays of Albany, NY, and many loving nieces and nephews. Miss Lily touched the lives of all she met with all her smiles, caring ways, and jokes. She shared her creative hand crafted items generously. She loved her church and her family; and was a real people person who will be greatly missed. Friends will be received Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME INC. corner of Shaw & Triboro Ave. Turtle Creek (412-823-1950). Services will be at the First Baptist Church of Monroeville Saturday, noon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Home of Pittsburgh, 5618 Kentucky Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15232.

Reese (Tex) and I loved Lily very much. She was a great person and beautiful lady. Will always remember our special trip to the Grand Canyon.

From Ida Means and family at 201 Sunset:
Our deepest sympathy on the passing of your mother. We have many fond memories of Lil in the neighborhood and do miss her. My husband John passed about one year ago. God Bless.

Our fondest memory of "Diamond Lil" was our trip to the Grand Canyon. She nicknamed my husband (her first cousin) Tex and he nicknamed her Diamond Lil. She was a fun loving person and we will never forget her for the beautiful person she was.

I have such wonderful and colorful childhood memories of "Aunt Lil," my father's first cousin (Charley Adamson). We would go to lunch/shopping sprees downtown Pgh. and it was magical. She would tell jokes and laugh and her blue eyes would twinkle - staying at her house was heavenly. My condolances to Bonnie and her family. With much love, Charlene Adamson
