Mrs. Lillian "Leein Lee" Moffett-Gibbs

Mrs. Lillian (Moffett) Gibbs, 73, of Waterbury, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2022, at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. She was the wife of Mr. Darryl Gibbs. Lillian was born April 16, 1949, in Danbury, CT, a daughter to her late parents, John and Perrine (Spencer) Moffett. "Leein Lee", as she was affectionally called, was educated in the Danbury School System. She attended Robert Avenue Grammar School, Locust Avenue Middle School and graduated from Danbury High School in 1967. She then continued her education obtaining her Bachelor's Degree, in African American History, from Western Connecticut State University. Lillian was an insurance agent at Sears before branching out and starting her own firm at Allstate Insurance Company for over 15 years. In her younger years, Lillian attended Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. Zion church in Danbury, under the leadership of Reverend Lawson. She later attended Victory Christian Center in Danbury where she sang in the choir and had a long, loving relationship with the Pastors's of the church as well as church members "Leein Lee" enjoyed traveling, going to the casino, fishing, cooking, writing poetry and helping people. There wasn't a person she wouldn't help. She was a loving person that would help out anyone in need. She loved family time and enjoyed spending precious moments with them especially throughout the holidays. Lillian will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew her. Besides her loving husband Darryl, she leaves to cherish her memories one son, Henry Austin, Sr. of Waterbury, six grandchildren; Dionne Moffett, Diadrea Moffett and Everton Dussard whom she adopted and raised, Henry Austin, II., Nevaeh Austin and Jade Austin all of CT, nine great grandchildren; four siblings; Vera Lawson of PA, Lucinda Shosan, Benjamin Moffett and David (Shirley) Moffett all of CT, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter Yolanda Moffett-Dussard, and three siblings John P. Moffett, Roger Moffett and Addie Moffett.
