Lillian Reuben Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 12, 2025.
Lillian Kavoruk Reuben, 67, passed away on August 16, 2025, in Anchorage, Alaska. Born on June 9, 1958, in Nome, Alaska, Lillian lived a life rooted in faith, family, and the enduring strength of her Inupiaq heritage.

Lillian was known for her infectious laugh and unwavering spirit. Her humor could light up any room, and her deep sense of faith guided her through life's joys and challenges. A devoted believer in the Lord, she found great comfort and inspiration in scripture-especially Acts 2:17-19-which she often read and reflected upon. These verses spoke to her belief in divine purpose and the power of spiritual vision.

Creativity was at the heart of Lillian's daily life. She had a passion for arts and crafts that she shared both at home and through her time with Anchorage Hearts and Hands of Care. Whether knitting or coloring, her hands were always busy creating something beautiful. She also enjoyed simple pleasures-attending church, preaching the gospel, riding around the city, stopping by KFC for a bite to eat, sipping coffee while watching TV, or reading her Bible. Her love for 90s country music was well known among those close to her; David Lee Murphy held a special place in her playlist.

Lillian cherished time spent with her Caregivers at Keikii Home II, as well as her family. She is lovingly remembered by her sister Rosie Garoutte and brother-in-law John Garoutte; her sons Richard Reuben and Sonny Reuben; daughter-in-law Angela Reuben; grandchildren Oak, Olivia, Alice, Grover, and Floyd Junior; nephews John Jr. and Edward; niece Tiffany; as well as many great-nephews and nieces who loved her dearly.

She now joins in rest her beloved parents Jacob and Alice Reuben; daughter Esther Reuben; brothers Jacob, Fred, and Richard Reuben; Aunt Martha Barr; along with many other relatives and extended family members who preceded her in passing.

Lillian's legacy lives on through the laughter she shared, the faith she embodied, the arts and crafts she created with love, and the values she upheld with quiet strength. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
