Of course we didn't know her well but we knew from the few times we met her in doing her sale , she was quite a lady and enjoyed life living with Tom and Betty. What a blessing The ladies of charity at 4th & State won't be the same without her. May she rest in peace. Jan and Toot Ewalt

Lil was a very special lady. So kind, loving and full of shenanigans. At Ladies of Charity, We could always expect a laugh when we would talk with her. She got a kick outta our teasing. Her usual response would be, "Oh, you girls!" And she would laugh. We would give her little trinkets, or silly hats and she would proudly wear them. I was amazed at her stamina, she would work so hard, walk so much, always doing her job. On hear 93rd Birthday, I put a sign on her back saying, "Today is my Birthday. I am 93." She didn't know it was there. Later she'd say I don't know how so many people know today is my birthday. I just smiled. Towards the end of the day a young man congratulated her on her 93rd birthday, she finally asked him how did he know? He pulled the sign off and showed her. We heard her voice saying loudly, "Oh, those girls!!!" And promptly came into the back room, shaking the note and asked who put this on my back? I smiled and said it was me. She came over and hugged me and kissed my cheek. I will miss her so much. I loved her dearly. There will never be another Lillian Rice. Rest in Peace sweet Lil. You my dear have earned your wings. I love you!
