Lilian, my dear dear Lillian, what an honour it was to have known you, and your dashing Don, and your children, and your dogs. I count myself fortunate to be among the ne'er-do-wells to whom you gave love and shelter when both were needed most. As always, my deepest thanks and Godspeed. Bob

Too few people have principles. Fewer live by their principles, Lillian did. It was a privilege to be her friend and colleague. She taught me a lot and I will not forget her.

So many vivid memories of Lillian during the years I worked for Supervisor Lee Taylor when he was on the County Board of Supervisors representing Rancho Santa Fe and all of North County. She was always tenacious and vocal in support of social justice and many local and regional causes affecting people and families. It was a pleasure to read the comprehensive description of her incredible life and the lasting contributions her efforts produced.

On this muggy Sunday morning, over a cup of coffee, as a complete stranger to Lillian Ritt, I happened upon her obituary. And as I watch a couple of hummingbirds sparring over the birdfeeder outside, I just want to thank the author of the obit for the extraordinary effort in conveying the message about the life of an obviously extraordinary woman. If one of your goals was to inspire, you've succeeded with me. Many thanks to you and to Tiger Lil.
