ROCHESTER HILLS, MI: Lillian S. Stover, age 89, longtime resident of Shelby and recent resident of Michigan, died Saturday September 27, 2014 in Rochester Hills, MI.

Born April 12, 1925 in Erie, PA to Jay F. and Anna B. (Doutaz) Sherman she had been a Shelby resident since 1940 moving to Rochester Hills, Michigan in 2012.

Lillian was employed for over 20 years as Clerk of Courts with the Shelby Court System. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher, Deacon and Elder.

Surviving are her son, Paul (Diana) Stover of Rochester Hills, Michigan; her grandchildren, Edie (Drew) Lerback of Ashland, Jacob (Evan) Stover of Ferndale, Michigan and Grant (Carly) Bly of Tampa, FL; sister-in-law Alma (Bill) Brooks of Shelby; and two nephews Jim Nothacker of Traverse City, MI and Jack Nothacker of Shelby.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Melvin Stover; her daughter, Ann Bly; two brothers, Ross Sherman and John "Jack" Sherman; four sisters, June Landis, Adelaide Nothacker, Dorothy Richards and Rita Sherman and her nephew, George Richards.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Friday October 17, 2014 from the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Reverend Paul Stover, her son, will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:30 PM. Memorial expressions may be made to the Ann Bly scholarship fund.
