Lillie Manz

Lillie Beata Manz September 27, 1928 December 11, 2010 Lillie, a much loved mother died peacefully in her sleep at the Cupar and District Care Home. She is survived by her son Allan (Nancy) Manz and brother Ernest Schmidt. Lillie is predeceased by her husband Erhart on June 24, 2009, daughter Linda Manz, her parents Frederick and Beata, brothers William, Christian and Richard and sister Hertha McLean. Lillie was born on the Schmidt farm on September 27, 1928. She attended Craiglie School completing her grade 11. She then went to Regina and attended Business College. Following her schooling she worked in Regina for a Rubber plant for one and a half years. Lillie returned to Southey when she married Erhart Manz on September 27, 1949. They resided in Southey for the four years while Erhart drove truck. During this time their oldest child Linda was born. Then in 1953 they moved to Gibbs, SK where they farmed for the next 17 years. They enjoyed their time here and their family grew once again with the birth of their son Allan. They returned to Southey after these years to Erhart's sister's farm. They farmed here for six more years before moving into Southey and opening up the repair shop. Lillie enjoyed working on her hand work as well as on compiling her family history. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2010 in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Southey, SK. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 in Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
