Lincoln Michaud Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 13, 2015.
MESILLA PARK, NM - Lincoln Michaud passed away on March 29, 2015 in Las Cruces, New Mexico due to an automobile accident. Lincoln was born in Old Orchard Beach, Maine on February 12, 1940 to Felix and Rose Anne (Chasse) Michaud.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. During his time in Maine, has was a Maine Guide, and did most of his hunting with a bow. He spent as much time as he could in the outdoors. He had many interests but carpentry was his job. After he graduated from Bridgton Academy, Bridgton, Maine he went into the U.S. Army and served as a Morse Code Interceptor stationed in Ethiopia, Africa. In his later years he moved to New Mexico to do some hang-gliding with a group of friends from Philadelphia, PA and ended up purchasing a small pecan farm in Mesilla Park. He sold his pecans and photographs at local farmer's markets in the Las Cruces and Mesilla area. He became involved in the organization of the farmer's market vendors and was on the Farmers' and Crafts Market of Las Cruces Board. He was very instrumental in the planning of their website and took all the pictures that appear on www.imagesbylincoln.com

Remaining family members are sisters Verna Cox and husband Kenneth of Verona Island, Maine and Lola Orcutt and husband Amos of Bangor, Maine; brother's Elroy "Mitch" Michaud and friend Sue Swanson of West Palm Beach, Florida and Doren "Mitch" Michaud of North Port, Florida. He was predeceased by his parents, brother's Clifford, John and Ronald and sister's Alice Roderick and Elsie Michaud. He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews.

The family plans on holding a Remembrance Service for Lincoln this summer in Maine. Those of you who wish to make a gift in honor of Lincoln can send a donation to the Felix and Rose Ann Michaud Scholarship Fund, University of Maine Foundation, Two Alumni Place, Orono, ME 04469 or to a charity of your choice.

I will always remember my friend Lincoln, and honour his memory. I have many of his photographs he posted to me here in London, England, and whenever I shoot my Contax G2 I will think of my friend Lincoln. I'll miss our Facetime chats and our talks and friendship. May God bless your soul my friend.

May Lincoln Michaud rest in peace and always be remembered in life. He was such an icon in our community as "The Pecan Man" and had some amazing photography from all over NM. The local LC & Mesilla farmers & crafts market won't be the same without him. Lincoln was such a great and humble man, Thank you for being a friend. Prayers go out to his loved ones and family.

as a nearby neighbor, I will miss seeing Lincoln driving by and our occasional chats in Mesilla. There will always be a void that can't be filled because he was one of a kind. My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends.

I was an acquaintance of Linclon's from the "Farmer's Market." He was always there with a smile, a free pecan, and a cute joke. I will definitely miss him. Blessings and God's comfort to his loves ones.

Lincoln, our friend and FaceTime companion. You became as family to us. Our hearts are broken now with the void of you in our lives. We hope you understood how you left impressions upon people who loved you. New Mexico embraced you as you embraced it back.

We can honestly say your presence in our lives, now taken prematurely, will continue to flow thru all that we remember of you. Funny stories and all!

God bless your family who will mourn the loss of their wonderful brother, uncle and cousin.

We loved you Lincoln. And love never fails.
