Linda was so much a part of the Coraopolis Memorial Library. The chair that she usually sat in while pondering a new book or reading the newspaper sits empty.
She was the type of person that you don't often meet. She was always pleasant, and even though she had her own challenges to face, she rarely complained.
She will be terribly missed, but I am sure that she is now calm and content--no worries, no suffering, no pain. Rest in peace, Linda.

Whatever professional boundaries may exist between library staff and the public were always and wholly ignored by Linda, and I am the better and happier for it.
She was both an avid reader and an astute film viewer, but her love of people surpassed even these passions. Her ability to shape a conversation was unmatched in our film group. You could tell, with each flourish of her hand or quick intake of breath, that she believed in what can be reached by the simple act of people engaged in conversation.
She knew something that so many of us frequently forget while on cell phones and tablets, iPods and iPads: connection, no matter how fast or wireless, means little when you're not actually connected. Being so involved in her community was Linda's own personal reminder to us all that "in person" still matters. She knew that a smile means more than a smiley face, a laugh means more than an LOL.
I will miss Linda terribly, as will the rest of her library friends. Wherever she may be, I know that she has an audience and she's telling a good story.

Linda was a WONDERFUL person who BLESSED all the students in the St. Anthony Program and all who knew her. I loved your passion for working with your students and the way you cared about them. You inspired all who knew you by your dedication, love, and time you put into caring for others. You will be dearly missed, but you will be remembered in our hearts forever....

Linda was an exceptionally good friend. Her and I and a few others shared many days of talk and laughter at the local McDonalds. She knew how to brighten the day for anyone. A voracious reader of more books than I'll ever know, and she was a part of our local movie club at the library. She always knew what to say when we discussed movies. Her dedication to the children in her work was always a passion for her. There will be a hole in my life without her meeting me for a bite to eat. I do trust that she has received the comforting hand of Our Lord as she entered the peace of eternal life.

Linda was so friendly and supportive working with the students in the St. Anthony's Program at Bishop Canevin High School. As the school librarian, I saw the care and concern she brought to her work. I send my deepest sympathy to her family.

What a true loss to the St. Anthony's School Program. Ms. Awad was one of our son's teachers many years ago at the original St. Thomas More School. She was such a caring person who devoted her life to all the children in the program with disabilities. She will truly be missed by so many students and parents. Our sincere sympathy to the family. Rest in Peace, Ms. Awad. Thank you for helping to make our son the person he is today.

To Linda's family,
I knew Linda first through our commute on the Coraopolis bus, then as part of our book club at the library. She was truly a kind soul and constantly expressed compassion and caring for everyone she encountered on her many bus rides. She was a valued member of book club- and an amazing book historian. Any book - chances are Linda has read it and can recall every detail down to writing style and character development. Her absence will truly leave a void in our little group. I'm so very sorry to hear of her passing, but I know her battle has been a long and difficult one that she faced with inspirational levels of bravery. Peace to all of you.
