Linda Cordova Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 13, 2024.
Linda Tafoya Cordova, affectionately known as Mamacita, passed away on August 31, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 95. Born on March 8, 1929, in Hurley, New Mexico, Linda grew up in a close-knit family and carried those values throughout her life.

Linda was a beacon of love and laughter, often described as a prayer warrior who cherished everyone she met. Her sense of humor was infectious, and her stories about her childhood and family were both entertaining and enlightening. Linda shared not only the joys but also the sorrows of her life, making her advice and anecdotes invaluable to those around her.

Professionally, Linda was versatile, having worked at a dry cleaning store in Albuquerque, worked at Sprouts Ritz in Truth or Consequences, and taught kindergarten in Albuquerque, where she adored her "kiddos" and often regaled her family with humorous tales from the classroom.

Linda was a devout member of Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church and found solace and community in her faith. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, crocheting, embroidery, and ceramics. She had a particular talent for creating beautiful vases and paintings, which remain treasured family heirlooms.

She is survived by her children, Mark Cordova and his wife Angela, Wayne Cordova and his wife Illena, and June Olivas and her husband Robert; grandchildren, including Stacy Rush and her husband Tyson, and Jessica Cordova and her husband, Kathleen Archila, Phillip Archila, and Anthony Cordova. Linda also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. She iis also survived by her brother Eloy Tafoya and his wife Mary, and Natalia Andrews , her sister. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tony Cordova; her granddaughter, Monica Olivas; and her siblings, Evangie Apodaca, Leo Tafoya, Merced Tafoya, Jacob Tafoya, and Nassaria Montoya.

A service to honor Linda's life will be held at Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her spirit, deeply loved and profoundly missed, will undoubtedly continue to inspire and guide her family and friends. Linda's legacy of love, humor, and kindness will forever resonate with those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace and joy in the presence of the Lord.

Mom, I love you forever my sweet prayer warrior! You were the best mom in the world. Hopefully, we will one day meet in Heaven with our family. Even though all our hearts are shattered, I know God has an amazing plan for those in Heaven. Thank you for all the wonderful years. We shall all be consoled by our Father in Heaven and our Blessed Mother in Heaven! I love you, miss you, and may God and our Blessed Mother bless you!!!

I will always miss your voice , talking to you everyday, your stories of the past and sense of humor. Your laughter was contagious. I wanted to take you to Dairy Queen one more time.
