I sail as part of the regular crew on the 30-foot Olson sailboat WYSIWYG, and over the years many other crewmembers have come and gone, but Linda was aways part of our core crew. Anytime she was with us it was going to be a good day, not just because she was a good sailor, but because she was so nice to be around. She was soft-spoken but lively and fun. We will miss her. I did not know her outside of sailing. I knew she had a daughter and husband but never met them. Sailing was only part of her life, and much as we will miss her, I feel for those who were far closer to her and have lost so much more by her passing.

I just now learned about Linda´s passing and I´m in disbelief. I met Linda in early 2008 when I began working as an Environmental Coordinator with Chevron and she was one of the BAAQMD inspectors assigned to the refinery. Linda was kind, fiercely intelligent, and a true professional. I´ll never forget her rich, raspy voice and her beautiful smile.
When I´d receive a call from Linda, it usually meant bad news (for me), but her sense of fairness and her character made every dialog we´ve ever had predictably pleasant.
I just heard of this minute ago, and I still can´t believe it. I pray for her loved ones. RIP kind soul.
