Linda Marie George

Linda Marie George serenely transitioned into the arms of Jesus, on Monday, September 8, 2025, amidst family and dear friends at the age of 76. She was a native New Orleanian, attended Booker T. Washington High School, a graduate of Delta Community College and retired distinguished seamstress. She was embroidered with the love of God, unwavering faith, and well-esteemed for her fine personal qualities, benevolence, compassion, integrity, and high moral principles. Her life was a testament of grounded selflessness, always sacrificing for others and exhibiting boundless love for family. She is survived by 2 loving daughters; Demetra George and Nicole Duruofor (Smart); 4 chosen children; Levon Connor, Wanda Jackson, Vanessa Mitchell, Donna Thomas, and Curtis Mitchell; 1 grandson Kyron George Sr.; 2 great-grandsons; Kyron George Jr., and Zaki George; 2 godchildren Latescia Parnell Scott and Mikel Mickens; 1 niece Tressie August; 1 nephew Manuel George III; her devoted friend Verdell Comeaux, and a host of beloved cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Sr. and Rose George, her brothers, Manuel Jr. and Michael George, and admired cousin Martha Green Daniels. Relatives, family, friends, staff and residents of Tivoli Place Apartments, and members of the Creole Wild West Mardi Gras Indian Tribe are invited to the "Celebration and Tribute of Life Service" at Majestic Mortuary, 1833 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd., New Orleans, LA. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, for 10:00 A.M.
