Linda Hom Obituary

Mrs. Linda McKinley Hom, 59, of 71 Winding Rd., S.W., passed away Friday evening, May 4, 2012, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Hom was born in Pittsburg, PA, on April 30, 1953, the daughter of the late John Herbert McKinley and Catherine Dillon McKinley. She attended the University of Southern California and the University of Texas at San Antonio. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Dr. Steven George Hom, to whom she was married January 25, 1975; four daughters, Cheryl McCosh and her husband, Bem, Houston, TX, Christine Hom, Atlanta, Stephanie Hom, Los Angeles, CA, and Meredith Hom, San Francisco, CA; two grandchildren, Maeve McCosh and Emmet McCosh, and one soon to be; two brothers, Jack, and his wife, Viv, McKinley, Huntington Beach, CA, and Dan, and his wife, Patti, McKinley, Cape Cod, Mass.; and three sisters, Cege McGrath, Walnut Creek, CA, Marge Antignas, Ventura, CA, and Susie Sexton, Ventura.

A memorial mass was held Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at 12 noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Patrick Kingery and Deacon Stuart Neslin officiating.

The family received friends at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 8, from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon, and then at a reception in the Parish Hall following the mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 1825 Barrett Lakes Blvd., Suite 280, Kennesaw, GA 30144 or to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 911 North Broad St., Rome, GA 30161.

Steve, Cheryl, Christine, Stephanie, Meredith, Bem, Maeve, and Emmet, I am so sorry for your loss. I have enjoyed getting to know you all and rejoice that you are family and part of my family too. Linda is a cherished person and very lucky to have her family. I ache for your loss and pray that with God's strength you will remember all the wonderful and happy times Linda provided and will continue to provide through memories. I am so sorry and love each of you.
