Linda Brown Jackson

Linda Brown Jackson passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, surrounded by her family at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut.

Linda was born on May 11, 1941, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Dorothy Lindenmeyr Brown and Dr. James Butler Brown. She was raised in Concord and New London, New Hampshire, and graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. On June 6, 1964, she married her college sweetheart, Stephen Lawrence Jackson, in Scarsdale, New York.

Following their wedding, Linda and Stephen lived in New Jersey, Michigan, Missouri and Virginia before settling in Briarcliff Manor, New York, in the late1970s, where they raised their family. During that time, Linda served as president of the Briarcliff Manor PTA. She and Stephen also maintained a residence in Longboat Key, Florida, for nearly thirty years prior to recently moving to Southbury, Connecticut. While in Longboat Key she and Stephen were members of the local Rotary Club. Linda devoted herself to her family as a supportive wife and loving mother. She enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors, and being with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Stephen Jackson; her sister, Sarah Dowse (Hunt); her children, Rebecca Jackson Cavenagh (Robert) and Jeremy Andrew Jackson (Dawn); and her grandchildren, Liam Cavenagh, Emily Cavenagh, Olivia Jackson, and Hunter Jackson. She was predeceased by her sister, Martha Richards. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, John Richards, as well as extended family, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial and celebration of Linda's life will be held in the spring of 2026.
