Linda Kielb Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 1, 2025.
Linda Kielb, daughter of Morton and Ida Hockstein, was born in Bayonne where she was a lifelong resident. Beloved wife of the late John Kielb for 63 years. Devoted mother of Joseph and his wife Brenda and David and his wife Dawn. Doting grandma of four grandsons Julian, Dylan, Gabriel and Evan.

Linda was a graduate of Bayonne High School and Jersey City State College. She went on to teach for the Bayonne Board of Education in a variety of capacities for 42 years. Her career began with her teaching sixth grade at Samuel A. Roberson School and her last assignment with her serving as a guidance counselor at the High School.

In her retirement years, Linda enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren and attending as many ball games as possible to cheer on her boys. She also enjoyed immersing herself in the culture of New York City enjoying the theater, dining, street markets and good ole people watching. She also was an avid reader and enjoyed monthly gatherings with her other retired friends who belonged to Bayonne's "Vulture" Book Club. Her life and legacy will continue to serve as a testament to the great experiences she lived and lessons she taught us, leaving her memory to remain forever in our hearts.

My most deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family. The last time I saw Mrs. Kielb was in Stop & Shop and we talked for a long time. I was in her sixth grade class. She was an awesome teacher and an awesome person. She will be sadly missed.

I knew Linda for many years, starting at Roberson School and continuing with our "Vulture Club" meetings. She always added to any gathering with her friendliness, candor, and sense of humor. I will miss her a great deal.
