Linda MARKEY Obituary
(nee Gordier)
Linda passed away peacefully Saturday, December 15th in the loving arms of her family at the age of 69. Beloved wife of Tony, devoted mother of Paul (Kathleen Dmytryshyn) and Jennifer (Greg Murray), and cherished grandmother of Alexis (Markey) and Jillian (Murray). Linda is also survived by her parents Lee and John Gordier, brother Alan Gordier (Kathy), sister-in-law Wendy Rogers, and many nieces and nephews. Before having her family, Linda was a kindergarten teacher with the Ottawa School Board. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers at the Hospice at May Court and the Civic Hospital for their kindness, generousity, and support. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor) on Wednesday, December 19th from 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held in the Chapel on Thursday, December 20th at 10:30 a.m. with reception to follow. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Hospice at May Court or to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Dear Jennifer,
I was so saddened to hear about your Mom. My condolences to you, Paul, your Dad, and family.
I remember your Mom as being very kind, and making great french toast at sleepovers! I remember when she made the big change from very long hair to shorter hair many years ago.

My deepest sympathy in the loss of a beautiful, kind and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt and friend Linda. You all will miss her dearly. Cherish your memories with her. She was precious.
I will miss her sweet smile and gracious ways. I feel fortunate for having her friendship for over 50 years. It began at Ottawa Teachers' College and I was privileged to have had a visit with her less than two weeks before her passing.

Thinking of you with heavy hearts. There really are no words to say how sorry I am for you Tony, Jenn, Paul, for my parents, and for us all. Linda was much loved and will be dearly missed. I was lucky to have such a lovely lady as my Aunt.
