The family of Linda Ruth Park announce with deep sadness her passing on November 2, 2014. Linda was the beloved mother of Bradley (Brandy) and Stephen (Leanne) and the grandmother of Brady, Brielle, Xavier, Cassidy and Felicity. Although Linda suffered many years with illness she continued to exhibit patience and understanding. She was able to provide her recognizable smile to all who came into her company. She especially displayed an outpouring of love and devotion on those frequent occasions when her sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren were in her presence. In turn she was clearly loved by family and friends. Linda was a native Calgarian born to Gordon and Margaret Buchanan. She attended school in Calgary and completed her Interior Design Diploma from SAIT. After graduation she exhibited a bold and colourful flair in her interior design field. After her marriage and the births of Bradley and Stephen she settled into the role of mother and homemaker. Linda's personality allowed her to make friends easily. Linda also displayed a warm spot in her heart for animals. Many people knew her and marvelled at her ability to cope with her illness. She was a passionate and avid bridge player attaining her designation as a Life Master. Bridge, membership in the Junior League, community involvement and her family, kept her days filled with activity. She leaves to cherish her memory, her stepmother, Betty Buchanan of Victoria, B.C. She is survived by her cousins in the McDermid family. Her family and friends will remember fondly her kindness, generosity and perseverance. In the face of her adversity she lived her life with a quiet and serene dignity. She will be truly missed. The family would like to express its gratitude to the staff at the Fanning Centre for the warmth, care and compassion provided to Linda over the years. A Celebration of Linda's Life will take place on November 13, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. followed by a reception until 8:00 p.m. at the Glencoe Club located at 636 – 29th Avenue S.W., Calgary, Alberta.
