Linda Ann PATCHETT

Very shocked to stumble upon this obituary for a friend that was very dear to me in high-school. I was Googling on the net as a non-facebook hopeful looking for contact info. My condolences to all of the family. We had a lot of amazing and humorous times together that I look back upon fondly. None are shareable at this juncture. Ha ha! She was a lovely person fhen and it is great to hear that she always was.

Ms. Patchett, you were one of the best teachers at SFDCI and you made a difference in the lives of so many young minds. I always appreciated your great sense of humour and warm heart. You will no doubt be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family <3

We were so sad to hear about your loss. Linda was such a big part of lives when our boys were all spending a lot of time on the soccer field. She was lovely and kind and always a joy to be around. Please accept our sympathies.

Kris, Ryan and Josh I am so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful mother. Linda was a friend and a colleaque. We shared many good times together and she was always so helpful when problems with students arose. Above everything else she loved her boys. Linda´s strength through her years at SFDCI encouraged so many kids to find their strength and voice to fight many battles of their own. Her compassion and empathetic ways gave hope when kids may not have had any!

I met Ms Patchett in gr 9. My friend and I were sent to talk to her bc we were having a hard time getting along. As girls do at such a tremulous time in our lives. Everything was important. Everything was high drama. Feelings were always getting "hurt".

Ms Patchett sat us down and asked us our names. I remember being able to be calm almost instantly being in front of her. As if she would really listen to our "problem" and help us. She was wonderful.

In grade 10, second semester, I purposely joined Peer Counselling bc Ms Patchett was the teacher instructing the class. I found real meaning from her. How to help others even when you haven´t been in the situation yourself. Listening, paraphrasing, being empathetic. All tools that I still use today. I saw real power in them to connect to others. She was right!

Ms Patchett, you left a forever impression on me. You´ve been with me all these years and I will carry you with me until it´s my turn. Thank you for your kindness. God Bless.

I will never forget you thank you for helping me raise my grade for college you were my favourite high school teacher.

she was one of my favorite teachers. On my very first day of high-school she took attendance. When she came to my name she told me to stand up. She said let me get a look at you.... oh my you're a beauty. She proceeded to tell the class that when my mother had become pregnant with me that she was my mother's teacher and she was proud that my mother was a strong young lady to have had taken on such a responsibility at her delicate age. At first I was embarrassed being my first day of high-school and then when I got home qnd my mother told me how much she helped my mom, I knew she would look after me during my duration of high-school and she sure did. Fast forward to 10 years ago when I moved into our current home I found items with her name on it. She had lived in our home many years ago. Perhaps maybe when I was in high-school. There were only ever 3 teachers that made such a strong difference in my life. Mrs. Patchett was one of them. She encouraged me to puersue my dreams. I am saddened to hear of her passing, my sympathy to her grieving family. I am greatful to have known her, been tought by her and been loved by her, may she rest in peace.

Saddened to hear the loss of such a wonderful and amazing woman whom I am blessed to have known for many years. Linda has always been there for me since I was a teenager and helped me through some tough times. Thank you for everything. Like I´ve always told you, you´ve always been a special light in my life. What a beautiful tribute to Linda´s spirit. She welcomed me so warmly as the "new kid" at SFDCI, including me from the first day. Her love for her boys was infinite and exuberant. I know she will be deeply missed.

Linda was an artistic soul. She had so much love. You have done her such justice with this tribute. She was a wonderful colleague and friend--simply a lovely human being.

I was very sad to hear of Linda´s passing, but will always remember what a positive and fun colleague she was and how much the students liked her. She will be definitely be missed!
